Your Care Team
Nicole Fulton, M.A., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech Pathologist
Nicole Fulton, M.A., CCC-SLP (she/her), is a speech-language pathologist and voice rehabilitation specialist in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her voice journey began as a passionate musician, participating in multiple elite choral ensembles from childhood to adulthood. This love for music paved the way for a move to Los Angeles in her pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in music from California State University, Northridge, where Nicole majored in classical voice performance. Nicole studied vocal pedagogy and began taking on voice students of her own. Though she enjoyed performing, helping others find their best voice proved most rewarding. She discovered the field of speech pathology and decided to shift her path toward a career in voice rehabilitation.

Following music school, Nicole received her graduate degree in speech pathology from San Jose State University, and was fortunate to undergo her graduate externship at Stanford Voice and Swallowing Center, followed by a clinical fellowship at NW Clinic for Voice and Swallowing at OHSU. These experiences provided her with extensive clinical and research training in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders.

In addition to managing her private practice, Nicole also works part-time at a local hospital as a senior clinician and mentor to graduate students, clinical fellows, and early career clinicians. She is passionate about implementing current evidenced-based and patient-centered care into her practice to best serve her patients and help them reach their individual therapeutic goals. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys cooking, yoga, singing, soaking up sunshine outdoors, and spending quality time with her family.

Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve?
We see patients all over California via teletherapy.

What do I need to be successful in voice therapy?
We recommend you have reliable internet connection, a device with camera and microphone which allows for video and audio (such as a computer, tablet, or smart phone), a private and quiet environment, and commitment to brief but consistent daily home practice in addition to our weekly sessions together.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Currently, we are private-pay and do not accept insurance at this time. We are happy to provide a superbill upon request which can be submitted to insurance for potential reimbursement.

Do I need a referral?
While a referral from a physician is not legally mandatory for private-pay voice therapy services, at Bay Area Voice Care, we do require that you have been evaluated by an otolaryngologist (ENT) within the last 6 months to ensure that you are an appropriate voice therapy candidate and that your voice concerns may be treated via behavioral voice therapy.

Are our sessions HIPAA compliant?
Yes! We meet for our sessions on a HIPAA compliant teletherapy platform, and all email/correspondences, documents, and data are fully private and protected.
